Students often use cheap papers and colours, but to learn on surfaces where the colour is not flowing is very frustrating. Whereas painting with good colours on a good support is most satisfying. Students often comment : "and I thought it was me".

Pelikan Watercolours:
I love these watercolours, and have used them for over 30 years. They are from Germany and are made from high quality pigments of the finest grain size and great flowing capacity. Fun to work with ....

Arches Watercolour Papers:
Having used many different kinds of supports in extreme conditions, Arches has withstand all tests, such as;. workshops, where we have "washed off" paintings 3 - 4 times, and still achieved excellent results.

Faber Castell Pencils:
What can I say ... they are great pencils ... haven't found any better.. I use them and all my students use them ... .. did you know, they originated in Germany ? Sure you did ... Faber made his first pencils in Stein, Germany.
